Hi Robert

I have probably spoken to you before about the misguided bus which as you are probably aware, has not started up yet and there is no real date for the future, as such.

I am now concerned, especially as I work in Health and Social care, that the escalating expenditure of the so called bus route is having a detrimental effect on cutbacks for children and adults with Disabilities in the Cambridgeshire region.  I know for a fact that Cambridgeshire County Council are cutting grants which helped provide much needed respite to parents/carers of children with special needs.

Recently I have stopped going to visit a 10 year old boy who has Aspergers Syndrome and ADHD, to give his Mum (who is an MS sufferer) some much needed respite for 2 hours, because they have had their grant cut.  I think it is only going to get worse with the Social Service cutbacks and this is a worry, and an area where it is going to affect the most vulnerable people in our local area.  I realise there is not much we can do to stop these cutbacks, but surely there is a way of stopping our County Council and District Council wasting money on such large scale expenditure, like the misguided bus fiasco, in the future.

Please can you give me any comments on the above, which will be gratefully received.

Kind Regards,
Ann (Storey)

Subject: Fw: Puppy Farming

Date: Fri, 8 Oct 2010 10:01:32 +0100

Hi Robert, I know that I have mentioned this issue to you before and I would be so grateful for any help you could give in bringing this evil trade to an end. I believe that you are a person of great integrity and principle and trust you will do what you have said and help in any way you can. I know that UKIP have important policies on improving animal welfare in this country which I have seen on the UKIP website. Furthermore, UKIP have representatives in Wales which is the epicenter of this trade.

I'm afraid that puppy farming or battery dog farms as they are also known are rife with bad breeding practices and have churned out countless dogs with health issues and breed faults. But its not just the puppies that suffer as they are cute and usually find ( hopefully loving) homes. The poor breeding bitches ( & stud dogs) are the ones who really suffer and are often kept in the most horrific conditions, bred from every season and then disposed of in the most abominable ways when they can no longer produce income. These people are evil and must be stopped. Pet shops must be banned from selling dogs altogether as they are often outlets for these disgusting traders.

I, like most people I guess, vaguely knew of this practice but have become so much more aware of what goes on after discovering www.puppylovecampaigns.org which is an organisation of volunteers dedicated to stopping these traders. I made myself read the information and watch the videos and needless to say, I cried an ocean of tears. Its heart wrenching stuff. There are many other charities and organisations dedicated to ending this practice, but Puppylove is a very comprehensive site. It has made me & Colin very angry and motivated to do what we can to help. It hasn't been easy so far and a bit of an unhill struggle but I am determined to persevere.

I am contacting everyone I know and urging them to get informed, pass on the information and get involved in any way they can. If you go onto the Puppylove website, please be warned that its heartbreaking stuff, especially the videos and the TV programme made about this disgusting trade.

Thank you for your kind help in this matter.

All the best,

Mandy Pryke

Hi ! Mandy ...

I shall put this on our website www.nwcambsukip.co.uk under the letter section to draw more awareness and our support regarding this awful practise. I agree it needs stopping as fast as possible. Might be a good question for you to put directly to Nigel on Sunday.

(Pete Reeve has said that he will inform John Bufton MEP for Wales and send him the details for him to look into it.)
